Introducing The Changing Factor, the London accessories label aiming to empower women around the world

The Changing Factor presents its debut collection, a 13 piece accessories offering inspired by architecture, and dedicated to empowering women via an important charity initiative.

Magda Daniloaia, founder and creative director, was influenced by the awe-inspiring work of the late Zaha Hadid when developing The Changing Factor’s launch range, evidenced in the signature, winged ‘Alien’ briefcases (£720) that are the brand’s first hero design.

Architectural shapes and geometric panels run throughout the entire collection, spanning origami-like envelope clutches, wallets and keyrings - retail prices for which start at £45.
The initial colour palette is undoubtedly graphic, with black, cement, papavero (poppy) and a bold Mondrian yellow to take the customer from work to play. Polished hardware is another key point of distinction, as silver studs and subtle chains punctuate most bags.

The goal of empowering women is more than just a whimsical idea for Magda and, as such,10% of proceeds from all sales go to W4 (Women’s WorldWide Web). W4 is an innovative women’s charity that funds projects to help women and girls to develop their skills and quality of life via education, healthcare, business and ICT training; all causes that matter greatly to Magda, and no doubt to the brand’s conscious customers, too.

On a day-to-day level, Magda is also committed to offering solutions for the professional female customer in her own life. The brand’s quality leathers are sourced in Italy and every bag is packed full of pockets and lined with suede; a true guarantee of functionality and superior finish from her London design studio. Many styles also boast multi-functionality, with detachable straps that transform from backpacks to briefcases.

Launched just less than a year ago, The Changing Factor has already attracted a dozen global stockists, including British boutiques Silk Armour and Elara London and the renowned Wolf and Badger in New York City. Competitively priced, the most expensive bag in the launch collection is £720; a point that buyers say is exceptional, as it offers an attainable price point for customers wanting a beautifully-designed bag, that doesn’t cost thousands. Of course, anyone who shops also gets the feel-good factor of knowing that a portion of their sale has gone to worthy causes too.
